Terrific Twos
Our Terrific Two’s room is designed to have 20 children from 24months. The room is laid out to create a warm and stimulating environment where children can feel safe and nurtured throughout the day. Our staff are very experienced in caring for young children and provide excellent care and support to both the children and their parents. The ratio is 1:4 and they tend to stay in this room until they are developmentally ready to move into the Early Learners room around 36 months.
We follow the EYFS guidance and staff plan and provide stimulating activities to help and support young children to develop in the three PRIME areas of their development:
Physical development
Personal, social &
emotional development
Communication &
language development
The Terrific Two’s room has provisions for young children to develop their fine and gross motor skills through playing with various resources and equipment specially selected to enhance their learning and development such as puppets & books, musical instruments, mark making, sand/water play, puzzles and games, home corner, construction toys, climbing frame, dressing up and much more.
We understand the importance of sensory play for young children's development; therefore, we offer activities to stimulate their senses and provide them with opportunities to experience new sounds, textures, fragrances, colours and visual stimulants such as jelly play, foam play, reflective play via mirrors and transparent play via scarfs and materials.
The room also has access to a secure outdoor play area so that they can enjoy the outdoors with ease. The outdoors is an exciting place for young children to play and we have designed our areas to be safe and secure, and to further enhance their learning opportunities.
When you first register your child with us, we offer an induction process to help you and your child settle quickly into nursery. Throughout the induction process you have the opportunity to discuss and share information with the nursery staff and ask as many questions as you wish.
